Kyiv Opera (Opera and Ballet Theater for Children and Youth): history and location
The Kyiv Opera is pleased to welcome guests and residents of the capital at the address of st. Mezhihirska, 2. The institution is located in a unique palace building, included in the ensemble of one of the oldest districts of Kyiv - Podol. The theater was founded in 1982 under the name of the State Children's Musical Theater. The institution has been known under its current name since 2019. The auditorium of the Kyiv Opera is designed for 436 spectators. Since 2016, a chamber stage has been operating, where plays and concerts take place. A separate "ART-STAGE of the theater" houses an amphitheater for 120 seats.Striving to constantly improve the quality and level of productions, the theater actively uses audiovisual content. The availability of appropriate equipment, the use of innovations in the field of light and sound technologies, the professionalism and innovation of directors, the encouragement of youth creative projects - all this makes the Kyiv Opera a popular recreation center for Kyiv residents and guests of the capital.
