Burdon Folk Band. Almost a Summer Concert
This May, Burdon Folk Band invites you on a warm, lively journey through Ukrainian folklore — from spring dances and Polissya rhythms to Carpathian melodies and original interpretations of folk stories.
The program combines new compositions, unrecorded gems, and favorite tracks from the album "The Fifth," creating a coherent story about spring, the road, fate, and memory.
In the center is the fresh energy of spring - new tracks.
"Goat" (spring dance) - ritual playfulness and the rhythm of awakening. "Up the mountain, up the mountain" - tender Galician lyrics that unfold like a landscape. Polesie knitting + "Oh, I'll shout" - a combination of dance polkas and deep Polesie melancholy.
Tracks from the new, yet unrecorded album:
"Oh, what, what" is an orphan's wedding song that we associate with the Norwegian fjords
"Teren" is a true folk series with drama and character
"Fate" is a story that sounds like a confession, and the second part is our interpretation of famous melodies by folk virtuosos the Pylypchan brothers. "Robber" is a Podolsk western with drive and darkness.
"Leaf" is a Lemko recruitment song.
We will play several famous songs from the "Fifth" album and we will not regret playing a few Carpathian melodies in the mountains.
