The Road to the Sun

Cherkasy Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after T. G. Shevchenko Cherkassy, Shevchenko boulevard, 234

"The Road to the Sun" at the Cherkasy Drama Theater is a musical fairy tale for those who sometimes want a little warmth, light, and history, after which it becomes easier to breathe. This is a performance about finding oneself, a dream, and the path that everyone goes through, even if at first it seems "not like everyone else."

It is based on the familiar fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen and the story of an ugly duckling who dreams of flying to the sun and eventually turns into a beautiful swan.

What is the musical fairy tale "The Road to the Sun" about?

A magical fantasy about a hero who goes through loneliness, doubts, and the search for his place in the world comes to life on stage. But instead of an instructive “children's story,” this is a warm performance about self-acceptance and the courage to be yourself.

This is a one-act musical fairy tale, so the story is perceived easily and holistically — without overload or long pauses. A good option for a family outing or an evening when you want to switch from routine and spend time with loved ones.

Why you should add it to your plans

"The Road to the Sun" will appeal to both children and adults. Children will see a beautiful fairy tale, and adults will recognize in it something very vital about acceptance, change, and inner strength.

There will be music, a stage fairy-tale atmosphere, and the same mood when, after the performance, you still want to believe in good things. The mood when you want to exhale, go out into the world, and replenish your treasury of memories with something bright and peaceful.
