Kitsyunya

Stsena 6 Kyiv, vulytsya Vasylʹkivsʹka, 1

"Kitsyunya" is a very black comedy, where absurdity, harsh humor and unexpected twists go hand in hand. A performance for an evening when you don't want light theater, but a story that surprises, shocks and makes you laugh in places where it seems like there is no time.

If the usual plots no longer appeal to you, and your soul craves something more intense than a standard trip to the theater, this option can be a good anti-weekend treat.

black comedy from the Wild Theater in Kyiv

At the center of the plot is Patrick. A man feared by all of Ireland. Ruthless, dangerous, and completely devoid of compassion. But even he has a weak spot - a creature to whom he feels a real attachment.

When disaster strikes, the story turns into an explosive mix of revenge, absurdity, and dark humor. It's not just individuals who are affected, but the entire island.

This is a case where there is much more hidden behind the external rigidity than meets the eye. The story balances between laughter, shock and reflections on human nature, leaving no room for indifference.

Why you should add it to your plans

  • A black comedy for those who love unconventional theater.
  • A play by Martin McDonagh, the author of the films "In Bruges," "Seven Psychopaths," and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri."
  • Directed by Maksym Holenko, director of the plays "Aphrodisiac", "Viy 2.0." and "Vitalik".
  • A plot where laughter and cruelty exist simultaneously.
  • A good option for those looking for theater with character, not just an evening's entertainment.

It's worth going if you like provocative stories, dark humor, and performances that make you want to discuss what you saw on the way home. This is not the kind of theater where you can just relax and watch the action. You have to react.

In the mood when you want to go out into the world, switch from routine, and gain an experience that is difficult to compare with a regular theater production.

About the production

The performance is based on the play by Martin McDonagh, translated by Ilya Pelyuk. The director of the production is Maksym Golenko. The visual solution was worked on by artist Maria Khomyakova, and the music was composed by Dmitry Danov.
