The Exes
"The Exes" is a play about people who one day look back and try to understand where life went wrong. This is not a story about "the exes" in the format of a light romantic comedy, but an honest conversation about loneliness, memory, love, and the feeling that time passes faster than we would like.
About the play "The Former"
The story centers on Robert Novak, who meets his former love after decades. And with this meeting, questions familiar to many return: what we have lost along the way, why people drift apart, and how not to become “disposable” in a world where everything is changing faster and faster.
This is a story of a lifelong love, but without sweet illusions. There is fatigue, disappointment, a sense of uselessness, and an attempt to find meaning again in everyday things - work, love, caring for others.
Despite the dramatic tone, the play does not leave you in the dark. On the contrary, it gradually leads you to the idea that even after losses and mistakes, life can still be truly experienced.
The duration of the performance is 1 hour and 40 minutes without intermission. Time to fully immerse yourself in the plot and take a break from the constant information noise.
The vibe of the production
“The Former” works through emotional intimacy and recognizable states. There are no loud effects for the sake of effects — instead, there are dialogues, pauses, internal tension, and the feeling that the story is not about “someone,” but very close.
The performance uses video projections with the participation of actors Myroslav Pavlichenko, Artem Karataev, and Artur Piskovsky, as well as the voice of Anna Salivanchuk.
Important: the production contains foul language, which is part of the characters' spoken language.
