The ballet "Viy" by Radu Poklitaru and the Kyiv Modern-Ballet Theater is a parable about the deep trials of the human soul, strength of spirit, faith and despair. A crazy story that happened to Khoma Brut, a student whose usual world turns into a bizarre space of trials. The story is full of emotional tension, despair, passions and the struggle with inner fears.
What happens when dream and reality begin to overlap? Is there enough strength to believe in one's own capabilities when everything around seems hostile? How to recognize evil, which sometimes takes the form of an innocent and beautiful creature? How to confront Viy himself? Who is he: Viy, a dream, an evil force, or the realities of today?
In the ballet, all the characters retain their names, but this is not a direct illustration of the literary plot. Radu Poklitaru offers her own reading, creatively rethinking the setting, the actions of the characters, and the circumstances in which they find themselves.

ICCA – a powerful cultural center in the heart of Kyiv
The International Center for Culture and Arts (also known as the October Palace) is the center of cultural life for Kyiv residents and guests of the city. The building, which is deservedly called the architectural decoration of the city, is located in the very center of the capital at the address Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, just a few minutes from Maidan Nezalezhnosti or Khreshchatyk – and you are already at the doors of the Center. The main hall of the complex can accommodate over 2,000 visitors, which makes it ideal for both large-scale concerts and chamber performances. Fans of bright spectacles can choose the parterre and feel like they are in the very center of events. For those who appreciate comfort and a special atmosphere, there are seats on the balconies of the first or second tier, or an amphitheater, from which you can enjoy your own, unique perspective. A feature of the MCCM is its unique acoustics and excellent visibility of the stage from any point in the hall. In order for the events to sound and look as bright as possible, the latest sound, lighting and multimedia equipment is installed here.
