This fall, the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will embark on a major tour to Kyiv, representing contemporary Ukrainian ballet art.
Victoria Poleva's ballet extravaganza "Mavka" is a tragic love story on the border of two worlds, a subtle psychological drama, shrouded in the elemental beauty of nature. The fantastic music, exquisite choreography and visual magic of the production will immerse you in a world where myth and reality are intertwined.
An international team of artists worked on the production: choreographer-director Artem Shoshyn (assistant - Tetyana Kuruoglu), libretto and director Vasyl Vovkun, set designer Arvydas Buynauskas (Lithuania), costume designer Natalia Mishchenko.
This new stage wonder, created based on the drama extravaganza "Forest Song" by the legendary poetess Lesya Ukrainka, is a great idea for a theater weekend for the whole family, where the magic will captivate children, and the depth of the plot will resonate with adults.
