Rock opera "Romeo and Juliet" in Odesa
Love that is stronger than enmity. Loyalty that endures trials. The story of Romeo and Juliet has not lost its power for many years, and in this production it receives a new stage sound.
The audience is treated to a combination of rock opera, ballet and theatrical action. The vocal parts are complemented by choreography, acrobatic stunts and spectacular duels between the Montague and Capulet families. It is this contrast of tenderness and tension that helps to feel the drama of the two lovers even more deeply.
The plot is centered not only on the well-known love, but also on the eternal questions of choice, honor, duty, passion, and the value of human feelings. The production combines the scale of the scenes with sincere emotions that remain understandable regardless of time.
The production director and choreographer of the performance was Georgy Kovtun. The modern arrangement was created by Serhiy Dmitriev, and the scenography was designed by Honored Artist of Ukraine Stanislav Zaitsev.
