NAZVA is a group of musicians Pavlo Gots and Yaroslav Yarovenko, who position themselves as a Galician-Donbass music group. Pavlo is from Lviv, Yaroslav is from the city of Horlivka, in the Donetsk region. The project began its history in 2019, when artist Andriy Sagan asked Pavlo Gots to create a musical accompaniment for paintings for an upcoming exhibition.
At that time, the group did not yet exist in full-fledged composition. However, Pavlo had already decided on its name, guided by his interest in physics. The musician believed that science is a kind of new magic and religion that explores what goes beyond the limits of human imagination and has no established definitions. That is why it occurred to him that the best name for the project would be the word NAZVA itself. And who will form what image in their imagination is a purely individual matter.
Yaroslav Yarovenko joined the project in 2019. Pavlo Gots invited the musician, because he knew him from his collaboration in the band Joryj Kloc. At that time, Pavlo also held the position of director of the Lviv private House of Culture Nazva.
