Mukachevo Drama Theater: history and location

The drama theater is located in Mukachevo on the square. Cyril and Methodius, 1. On October 28, 1899, the grand opening of the theater building took place. In June 1947, the collective of the Bilhorod-Dniester Drama Theater became the new owner of the theater building, and on November 25, 1972, the theater chose the right to be independent — and was renamed the Transcarpathian Regional State Russian Drama Theater. In 2015, the theater was renamed the Transcarpathian Regional Theater of Drama and Comedy, and on February 9, 2017, the theater received the well-known name - Mukachevo Drama Theater.
The Mukachevo Drama Theater offers a new theatrical aesthetic that combines a bright metaphorical form with a deep psychological meaning. The action of the plays develops dynamically in space and time thanks to the skill and energy of talented actors who are ready to perform any task, both on a physical and spiritual level.

Capacity and structure of the site

Today, there are 270 seats in the hall of the Mukachevo Drama Theater. Although the hall's seating capacity has not changed since its construction, improvements in comfort and the reconstruction of the balcony have led to a decrease in the total number of seats. Now there is no standing room in the hall, and the light and sound operators are located on the balcony.

Like the auditorium, the stage of the theater has a classic angle of inclination, which allows the actors to be closer to the audience and vice versa - to bring the audience closer to the actions on the stage. This creates a specific atmosphere of theatrical communication and improves the acoustics of the hall.
