A Modern Art Space on Kyiv’s Left Bank

The Theatre on Troyeshchyna opened in September 2023 as part of the New Ukrainian Theatre Arts Center. It is located on the left bank of the Dnipro River at 5 Hradynska Street. The logo, created by artist Anastasiia Kononenko, depicts the classic masks of comedy and tragedy — and a third one still searching for its mood.

The first productions staged at the theatre were the interactive children’s play “Karlson Is Looking for a Friend” and the comedy “Éclairs for a Million.” This established the venue within the New Ukrainian Theatre family as a hub for family entertainment. Since then, the stage has hosted performances by the “Sonechko” Theatre, the Theatre on Mykhailivska, and other companies. The repertoire now includes around 50 shows, each drawing a full house. A special “Debut” project was launched to support young directors.

The Theatre on Troyeshchyna has a chamber format, accommodating up to 40 spectators. The intimate setting creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. For coffee, tea, and sweets lovers, there is a small café inside the venue.

The theatre’s director and artistic leader is Vitalii Kino.
