KYIV MODERN-BALLET WITH THE BALLET "LA TRAVIATA" IN KYIV

"La Traviata" directed by Radu Poklitaru is, first and foremost, a performance imbued with great love for the original source - the opera of the same name by Giuseppe Verdi. Infused with the beauty of Italian bel canto, the story of the tragic love and death of Violetta Valeri appears as a hymn to self-sacrifice, devotion and resilience - the qualities that a Woman is capable of.

Twenty years have passed since the premiere of the ballet "Carmen.TV", which began the history of the Kyiv Modern Ballet Theater. Both Carmen and La Traviata are symbols of all-conquering love. And although these two opera heroines, at first glance, are completely different, they are united by the main thing - the ability to defend their right to love, even at the cost of their own lives.

The ballet "La Traviata" is a romantic confession of love for opera, embodied in the language of modern choreography and direction. Complex multimedia video content, rich light score, author's conceptual costumes - all this creates a multi-layered stage world of the performance, allowing the viewer to emotionally completely dissolve in this bright theatrical universe.

The project was implemented within the framework of the “20 Seasons of Sustainability and Innovation” initiative with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and the budget of the city of Kyiv within the framework of the program of providing financial assistance on a repayable basis.
