The path to a musical career

Ivo Bobul (Ivan Vasilyovich Bobul) is a Ukrainian pop star, songwriter and performer, composer, People's Artist of Ukraine. The idol of several generations was born in the village of Porubne (now Terebleche) of the Chernivtsi region. Ivan grew up in a large family. His father passed away early. The boy's family did not live long. After completing eight years of school, he entered vocational school No. 76 in Slavyansk, Donetsk region. It was during those years that he made his stage debut: in 1969 he took part in a student amateur art competition. The owner of bright talent and natural charisma immediately won the victory and the title of laureate.

In 1972, the young man was drafted into the army. But even in the army, the gifted young man did not go unnoticed. Ivan performed in various units with concerts and again won a distinction. This time at the Military Song Competition.

After the service, Ivan worked in construction, and worked part-time singing in restaurants. So music and creativity always remained close. Ivo Bobul received his professional musical education by entering the Chernivtsi Vorobkevych State College of Arts. It was then that the artist with the stage name Ivo Bobul began his journey to recognition and popularity.

In addition to studying at the art school, the singer continued to improve his vocal skills at the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts. And in 2006 he received a master's degree with honors from the Music and Pedagogical Faculty of Chernivtsi National University.

Creative path

Ivo Bobul began conquering the professional music scene in 1979, when he joined VIA "Cheremosh". Already in the early 1980s, the performer actively declared himself as the vocalist of the band "Living Water". The singer's first hits appear in his repertoire:

"If you love, love";
"Starry Night";
"My Land, Land";
"I Saw the Mountains".

His beautiful voice and characteristic timbre won over thousands of fans. The artist gained recognition and popularity far beyond his native land.

A new stage in his career came in 1991, when the charismatic duo of Ivo Bobul and Lilia Sandulesa formed on stage. The artists presented the audience with a number of bright compositions. Among them are the songs "Beach of Love", "And Lindens Are Blooming", "Plomen of My Heart", "Two Shots". And already in 2002, Ivo Bobul's creative output was released on four CDs by the studio "6 Seconds". The release was represented by the albums:

“Emigrant”;
“Heavens of Your Eyes”;
“Poplar Love”;
“Golden Collection”.

The star’s first solo performance took place in April 2004. The concert gathered fans of the artist in the hall of the Kiev Palace of Ukraine.

The artist’s style and creative development

Today, Ivo Bobul continues his active concert activity, constantly updating his repertoire and joining modern artistic projects. The artist’s songs do not lose their popularity. And among the fans of the artist’s work, you can increasingly see young people. Ivo Bobul is open to new formats and experiments with sound. Proof of this are creative remixes of the master’s compositions – tracks created in collaboration with the Kolaba group.

For many years, Ivo Bobul has worked with a galaxy of talented artists. Among the composers, producers, and poets with whom the singer has long-term cooperation are Ostap Gavrish, Oleksandr Zlotnyk, Gennady Tatarchenko, Vadym Kryshchenko, Petro Maga, Oleksandr Vrataryov, Stepan Halyabarda, and others.

Social activity

Ivo Bobul is engaged in pedagogical activities. The artist is a role model and leader for young performers. The singer teaches vocals in the collective of the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts. Ivo Bobul also held the position of head of the department of variety and academic vocals and sound engineering at the Institute of Contemporary Art of the National Academy of Management Personnel of Culture and Arts of Ukraine.

During the war, Ivo Bobul actively participated in volunteer activities. The singer, together with his creative group, organizes charity concerts in different parts of the country. Including in military units. As part of the tour, the singer took to the stage in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Rivne, Lviv, Ternopil, Kropyvnytskyi. During the performances, both well-known hits and new songs written in conditions of a full-scale invasion are heard. A real surprise for the audience are compositions in Romanian. All funds raised are directed to support the Ukrainian military.
