History of the group
Ochi v Ochi is a Ukrainian pop duet that has won the hearts of thousands of listeners in a short time. The group was created at the end of 2022 by producer and performer Sergiy Kuznetsov and singer Olga Vorobyova. The emergence of the new group took place after several years of creative collaboration, during which Olga performed demo versions of songs written by Sergiy for other artists. At first, the group was called VINVONA. However, it later changed its name to Ochi v Ochi. The new name symbolizes openness, emotional contact and depth of communication with the audience through music.
Creative path
The idea to create a Ukrainian-language pop duet was born in early 2022 - in the format of a combination of male and female vocals, where lyrical motifs harmoniously intertwine with a dance sound. But the war forced to postpone plans. And the debut took place only on November 4, 2022 - with the release of the single "Wait". The song, created together with producer Sergey Yermolaev (Kazka, Wellboy), instantly became a TikTok hit and brought the artists their first great recognition and popularity. Like most of the duet's tracks, the composition tells about feelings, tenderness and drama of relationships between a man and a woman.
Within a month, the band released the English-language single So Sorry, which entered the digital charts and confirmed the duo's professionalism at the international level. The release helped the Ochi v Ochi project go beyond the Ukrainian scene and gain new fans abroad.
In 2023, the band continued to actively work on new compositions. The single "Hangs Up", created in collaboration with producer Sergey Ranov (RUNSTAR), received positive reviews from fans and critics. And the next song "Shchastya Lyubit Tyshu (ShchLT)" combined electronics with gentle guitar parts, emphasizing the emotional depth of the band's style.
Creative Style
Ochi v Ochi's music balances on the border of indie pop, electronics and alternative pop. The band's sound is distinguished by minimalist arrangements, sincere vocal intonations and a harmonious combination of emotions and rhythm. In each composition, the author's hand of Sergey Kuznetsov and the charisma of Olga Vorobyova are palpable - a tandem that creates songs with vivid emotions and deep meanings.
