Becoming an artist
Volodymyr Zhoglo is a Ukrainian comedian and artist, for whom each stage of life sounds like a separate track: with a change of rhythm, mood and tuning in to a new wave of creativity. He was born in the village of Mlyniv in the south of the Rivne region – a place that the comedian always speaks about with special warmth. Mlyniv for Volodymyr was an ideal starting point: here both “civilization”, and nature, and his own atmosphere, which accompanied the childhood of the future star, were combined. The forest, the river, walks and small discoveries - all this became a source of inspiration for the future performer, who at that time did not yet know that one day he would find himself on the big stage.
From an early age, Volodymyr had a creative spark. The boy danced and sang, even joined the church choir. He tried his hand at music and playing the violin. Ultimately, his natural inclination towards artistry led the young man to the KVK. However, Zhoglo himself was then convinced that he was not made for humor - he did not see in himself the comic "leader" that the audience recognizes him as today. After school, he entered the Ivan Franko University of Lviv to study political science. His mother dreamed of seeing his son as a priest, his relatives - as the future president. Zhoglo jokes that "one does not interfere with the other", but fate led him on a completely different path.
Later, Volodymyr received a philological education at the Ternopil Pedagogical University. He worked as a teacher. But humor still attracted him. And in the end, the talented Ukrainian conquered the stage.
Creative path
In 2010, Volodymyr Zhoglo joined the "Varyati-show" - a collective where his style, plasticity and musical past immediately came in handy. The first serious stage in the comedian's work was his acquaintance with Serhiy Prytula in 2009. At that time, Zhoglo was part of the comedy group "Chorny Hutsul". The acquaintance grew into friendship, cooperation and a real creative brotherhood. Volodymyr and Serhiy worked together, joked, became godfathers, and went on the path to popularity and recognition in the Ukrainian humor industry.
On stage, Volodymyr is a multi-genre artist. He writes texts, plays roles, improvises and uses skills acquired in childhood. Stage charisma and confident delivery made Zhoglo a favorite of large halls. And fans appreciate him for his sincerity and naturalness. The comedian organically combines humor with cultural codes. And that is why any concert with the artist's participation takes on a special sound.
Creative development
During the full-scale Russian invasion, Volodymyr Zhoglo began to actively perform at charity events, strengthening the Ukrainian scene and helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Humor became not only a genre, but also a means of support - and in this Volodymyr turned out to be a real leader. In October 2022, the comedian tried himself in the new role of the host of the "Nightingale Show", dedicated to the Ukrainian language. Thus, another direction in the artist's work opened.
In addition to working on stage, Zhoglo is actively developing his own projects: writing books, launching podcasts, and creating new formats. He often addresses family themes, because it was the family that became the source of his warmest and most recognizable ideas. And the stand-up performances that Volodymyr developed in parallel with television projects have today become a separate story of popularity. Today, Volodymyr is on a stand-up tour of Europe. Concerts held in collaboration with comedian Vadym Dzyunko were aimed at raising funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The path of Volodymyr Zhogl is an example of how an artist from a small village can turn into a star of the modern Ukrainian scene, preserving his roots and culture, but at the same time boldly moving towards new creative heights.
