Becoming an artist
Yevgeny Yevsyukov is a Ukrainian stand-up comedian, resident of Comedy Room Kyiv, leader of the Kotry club. The future star of the comedy genre came to Kyiv at the end of 2016 together with his friend Anton Senin. Even then, Yevsyukov clearly understood that he wanted to achieve recognition in stand-up.
Before this, Yevgeny’s path was variegated and completely unrelated to creativity and the stage. Starting at the age of 15, the young man managed to work in a variety of fields – from construction and security to assembling furniture and selling sofas. There was a shoe factory and seasonal part-time jobs.
But at the same time, the guy had a dream to conquer the humor industry. Yevgeny admits that he even imagined how he would one day perform in front of an audience. And for a spectacular appearance in front of fans, he even picked up a song. And although at that time he did not take active steps towards comedy, somewhere deep down he was already preparing himself for it.
Acquaintance with the comedian Anton Senin, who is famous today, became an important moment. The guys joined forces and went to the capital to start moving along the stand-up track together. Kyiv became not just a new city for both of them, but a starting point for their careers.
Creative path
For a year after arriving in Kyiv, Yevgeny Yevsyukov and Anton Senin went to live shows of local comedians. They carefully watched, absorbed the atmosphere of stand-up. But they themselves were in no hurry to go on stage. The courage to perform did not appear immediately.
Evgeny was the first to take the risk. That evening was remembered not only for its debut, but also for its curiosity: the organizer of the event simply forgot to add Anton to the list of participants. So Senin simply watched and was nervous in the hall while his friend conquered the audience.
From then on, everything went into overdrive: since February 2018, Yevsyukov began to regularly participate in the "Open Microphones" in Kyiv. He performed in bars on a par with experienced artists and beginners. And soon, with several like-minded people, he decided: it was time to create his own stand-up club - a space where comedians could dictate their own rules of the game.
Evgeny recalls that the path to popularity was not easy. Sometimes concerts were held, which were attended by no more than 40 fans. Not every viewer agreed to pay for a meeting with the "no-names." But the artist did not betray himself and even joked: if he achieves success, then fans will be ready to buy tickets even at a high price.
Artist's style and development
The comedian's style of humor combines wit and irony, which sometimes borders on sarcasm. Analyzing everyday topics, Yevgeny knows how to place really bright and unique accents. The topic for Yevgeny's jokes can be anything:
- neurasthenia and its advantages and disadvantages;
- prices for pistachios;
- unusual situations in a public toilet;
- train trips and much more.
The first solo concert of Yevgeny Yevsyukov, recorded on video, appeared on the YouTube channel of "Underground Standup" in March 2025. In his stand-up show “For the First Time on the Screen,” Yevhen openly and humorously shared his personal conclusions and observations. He told how he came to realize that he needed to take care of his health. He explained why it is worth paying attention to body signals in a timely manner. He also talked about supermarkets – ironically analyzing how shopping malls imperceptibly influence our decisions. And Yevhen honestly admitted that live communication is more valuable to him than any online chats. After all, the comedian highly values live emotions, sincerity, and a sense of genuine connection with people.
Social activity
During the full-scale war, Yevhen, together with other comedians, actively held tours with concerts in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Part of the money from ticket sales and funds from charity auctions, the artists donated to the needs of Ukrainian defenders. In addition, on his own pages on social networks, Yevsyukov supports collections for our military.
