The pride of Lviv and one of the most important art centers of Ukraine
The Lviv Philharmonic began its activities in 1902. The new music location of the city of Leva was located in the specially re-planned premises of the theater of Count Stanislav Skarbek. The auditorium was designed for 1095 seats. During the first season alone, more than 128 concerts were held with the participation of the symphony orchestra. The events were attended by more than 115,000 guests.A few years later, the philharmonic ensemble moved to a new building at the current address of ul. Myroslava Skoryka, 7. The premises are distinguished by beautiful architecture outside and inside. The two halls have excellent acoustics and are designed for 500 and 300 visitors, respectively. The decoration of the institution is the organ of the 19th century, which was previously located in the Dominican church. In 2020, the institution was named Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic.
Events taking place in the Lviv Philharmonic
With the independence of Ukraine in 1991, the institution became an important part of the musical life not only of the regional center, but also of the entire country. The Philharmonic offers its visitors:- evenings of classical and chamber music performed by a symphony orchestra;
- concerts of jazz and modern bands;
- performances of participants of various competitions and festivals;
- contests, exhibitions, master classes;
- concerts of folk ensembles and other bright events.
