We invite you to visit the ballets of leading Ukrainian choreographer Radu Poklitara "The Long Christmas Dinner" and "Women in D Minor" on the stage of the Kyiv Opera House in Podil.

BALLETS "THE LONG CHRISTMAS DINNER" AND "WOMEN IN D MINOR" PERFORMED BY KYIV MODERN-BALLET THEATRE

"The Long Christmas Dinner" is a ballet-reflection on the transience of life and what we fill our days, years and memories with. The plot is based on ninety years of the life of the Bayard family, shown through the prism of Christmas dinners that are repeated again and again, changing generations and preserving the sense of time. Radu Poklitaru's choreography subtly and without didacticism addresses the viewer and encourages them to think about what is truly valuable.

"Women in D Minor" is a performance full of admiration for the greatness of the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach's polyphony became a source of inspiration for the choreographer, and the plastic fabric of this ballet is completely polyphonic. The tragic story of female friendship, which does not exist, became only an occasion for the development of extremely complex multi-figure compositions and piercing duet fragments.
