Dmytro Oliynyk is a Ukrainian theater and film actor. Creativity and the world of theater interested Dmytro from a young age. The future star of the big stage and the film industry began his professional career in art back in 2007, entering the Chernivtsi School of Arts named after Sydor Vorobkevych. For three years, he mastered the profession of director of spectacular and theatrical events. The period of study formed a solid creative base.
Dmytro Oliynyk received his higher education at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. He studied in the workshop of the famous director Nina Gusakova. In 2015, he completed his studies in the specialization "Directing of Drama Theater".
Currently, Dmytro Oliynyk has wide recognition and popularity and is actively working on the capital's stage. Since 2015, he has been an actor of the Golden Gate Academic Theater. And in 2019 he joined the troupe of the Theater of Drama and Comedy on the Left Bank of the Dnieper, where he plays in the following performances:
The audience of the Golden Gate Theater could also enjoy Dmitry Oliynyk’s performance in the plays “Stolen Happiness” (directed by Ivan Uryvsky), “Othello” (directed by Stas Zhirkov), “Freken Julia” (directed by Ivan Uryvsky), “There Will Be No Dinner Tonight” (directed by Jules Audrey).
The actor’s active collaboration with directors and producers in the film industry has been ongoing since 2015. Dmitry Oliynyk’s debut is associated with the filming of the film “Hold the Blow.” In the short film, the young actor played Gosha. Oliynyk's talent and charisma were also evident in films and TV series:
The actor’s iconic role was that of Vladimir Akimov in the film “House “Slovo”. An Unfinished Romance”. The world premiere of the work took place at the 37th Warsaw Film Festival in 2021. Ukrainian fans of the historical drama genre saw the film at the first Mykolaichuk OPEN Audience Film Festival in 2022. Dmytro Oliynyk is one of those actors who treat their profession with deep responsibility and enthusiasm. For an artist, it is important not only too study the text, but to fully immerse yourself in the character's world, to grasp his linguistic, cultural and psychological nuances. If the role requires knowledge of a certain era or region, the actor begins with in-depth research. Dmytro reads, watches documentary videos. He notes down everything that can help to more accurately convey the character of the hero.
Once Dmytro got the role of a boy from a village in Polissya. And then he spent hours listening to recordings with dialects typical of the region. He tried to grasp intonations, peculiarities of the language in order to sound authentic on stage. Oliynyk considers this approach necessary: the viewer must feel the truth in the play.
According to the star, before premieres, the tension increases every time. Dmytro admits that several nights before the presentation of the play pass in anxiety. This is the state when you wake up at night and can’t fall asleep because you’re already living a performance.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the actor has given many performances abroad. As part of the creative groups of theaters, he presents premieres in various European cities. Together with other actors, Dmytro collaborates with talented European directors. Foreign productions are designed to tell Europeans about Ukraine and its culture. The artists also pursue a charitable goal: they raise funds for the needs of Ukrainian defenders and all those who have suffered from Russia’s unprovoked aggression.
