Biography
Emma Antonyuk is a Ukrainian journalist, influencer, blogger, interviewer. The appearance of the currently popular figure in the information space resembles a bright debut of an artist on the big stage. Emma was born and raised in Khotyn in Bukovina – a city where the silence of the province is combined with deep family stories. According to Antonyuk's own recollections, it was her family that significantly shaped her worldview: a grandfather with a clear national position, a workaholic father, and a difficult relationship with her mother taught Emma to be attentive to human characters and a tendency to deep introspection.
Childhood in a small town brought up endurance, the ability to work and appreciate simple things, and a love of books became the foundation for further creativity. During her school years, literature became an internal reference point for the girl, and a sense of justice became a trait that later determined the style of public statements. Emma Antonyuk's views on feminism also evolved: from skepticism, inherent in the environment in which she grew up, to a conscious and principled position.
Professional realization
Emma Antonyuk's professional path in the media began at the age of 15. Then, as a schoolgirl, the girl took her first steps in journalism. Since 2012, she worked on the local TVA channel, and later joined the "Window-News" team on STB. It was there that the recognizable style of the interviewer was formed - sharp, attentive to details and focused on complex social topics.
In parallel, Emma collaborated with "Ukrainian Truth", the portal "Gender in Details", the Human Rights Center ZMINA. And on STB she led the column "Book from the Star". Over time, Emma made a conscious choice in favor of independent formats, because blogging gave her the freedom to be as subjective as possible and build her own audience, rather than working according to the rules of the large television industry.
Author's style and professional development
The transition to digital formats became a new development track for Antonyuk - a series of projects, where each issue was like an intellectual concert for fans of complex conversations. Together with Yana Brenzey, Emma created the YouTube project "Palae", dedicated to culture, politics, issues of feminism, sexism, and problems of war. Part of this space was the book club "Vovchytsy", which turned reading into a collective live dialogue with the audience. In 2022, the channel's videos collected millions of views, and the project itself received recognition - the publication "LIGA.net" named its hosts the bloggers of the year.
In parallel, Emma launched the podcast “Asymmetry” with Artem Albul, as well as the interview project “Nobody Will Watch This”, where conversations with famous cultural figures resemble the hard talk genre, far from the “board of honor” format.
In 2025, Antonyuk’s media presence expanded thanks to the “Passive-Aggressive Show” format, created in collaboration with “Underground Standup”.
Emma Antonyuk’s style often causes discussion. The activist is criticized for her active presence in interviews, but she insists on the format of an equal conversation, where the interlocutors are not scenery, but full-fledged participants in the dialogue.
Social activity
Emma Antonyuk's popularity is not based on loud media hits, but on charisma, intellectual courage and a consistent position. She openly supports feminism, de-Russification of the cultural space, sexual education and language legislation. The influencer's charitable cooperation with the Ye Bookstore within the framework of the Ye Difference project has turned books into a tool for supporting libraries in de-occupied and frontline territories.
In 2024, Antonyuk was included in the "Top 50 Bloggers of Ukraine" rating according to Focus magazine. And the "Laboratory" publishing house announced the release of the book "Goodbye, Television! How to Spend 15 Years on TV and Survive".
