Becoming an artist
Kateryna Kachan is a Ukrainian theater and film actress, dubbing actress. The future star of the big stage was born and raised in the city of Kharkiv, in an acting family. So from an early age she was immersed in the atmosphere of the theater. Creativity and culture became integral parts of the girl's life.
Kateryna got acquainted with the stage in her childhood, while studying at a ballet school for ten years and playing the piano under the strict supervision of a demanding teacher. It was this combination of artistic discipline and workload, as the actress admits, that formed a kind of “creative core” in her – the ability to be demanding of herself and meet challenges with dignity.
Ekaterina Kachan has been at home in the theater since her early years. Therefore, despite the general perception of the difficult fate of artists, she consciously chose the profession of an actress. The path to popularity and recognition began in Kharkiv, where Ekaterina, as a schoolgirl, appeared on stage with small roles under the direction of director Andriy Valeriyovych Zholdak. It was in the theater team of her hometown that the girl worked until entering the institute. Here she made her stage debut. Gradually, she gained experience in working with the creative group, learned to behave in front of an audience. She tempered her acting character.
Ekaterina Kachan calls one of the most prominent figures of the Ukrainian stage, a true coryphaeus of the theater, Honored Artist of Ukraine Lyudmila Ivanivna Popova, her true mentor in her creative development. The prima often shared with Katerina advice on acting skills, stage behavior, and gave life advice. It was thanks to Lyudmila Ivanivna that Katerina became established in her choice of profession. Popova became the person who convinced the girl with bright charisma and outstanding talent to enter the theater.
Creative path
In 2003, Katerina Kachan received an acting education, graduating from the Ivan Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts. Immediately after graduation, she joined the troupe of the T. Shevchenko Kharkiv State Ukrainian Drama Theater, where she worked until 2005. However, according to the actress, she cut ties with this institution quite decisively. The ambitious and energetic Kateryna sought development, did not want to remain a "secondary player". And therefore she quickly decided to make changes.
Kateryna Kachan moved to Kyiv. But she did not apply to any of the national theaters - neither to the Lesya Ukrainka Theater, nor to the Ivan Franko Theater. Instead, the actress liked the idea of working at the Youth Theater. During the rehearsals, she left a good impression on the members of the artistic group. But the recruitment of actresses had already been completed by that time. Together with her friend, Kateryna decided to start her career with chamber scenes and auditioned for the Koleso Theater, where she was immediately approved for the main role in the production of "A Month in the Village". True, the premiere was scheduled only for August. Kateryna accepted the offer, having another month to think about it.
Continuing to try her hand at various stages with her friend, Kateryna Kachan accidentally got an audition at the Vilna Scena theater. It was there that she received an offer to cooperate with director Dmitry Bogomazov. The actress has been associated with this theater for six years of creative work (from 2005 to 2011). The talented Kharkiv native's debut in the capital was the role of Divchysk in the play Roberto Zucco.
Career at the Left Bank Theater
In 2011, Kateryna Kachan got a chance to work in the team of the outstanding director Eduard Mytnytsky. Initially, there was even discussion about the possibility of coordinating cooperation with both theaters. However, realizing that it was impossible to play on two stages at the same time, Kateryna chose the Left Bank Theater of Drama and Comedy.
