Kolin Kubik
- Place of birth: Spokane (Washington, USA)
- Language: Ukrainian
- Activity: stand-up comedian, volunteer
Colin Kubik is a stand-up comedian from the USA who deliberately chose Ukraine as his second home. This is where his humor, stage, and his own audience appeared. If you are looking for a place to go to get in the mood and want live comedy with an unexpected angle, you should take a look at his performances in the Numotamo poster or on Numotamo.com.
Becoming an artist
My first acquaintance with Ukraine took place in 2012. Colin came as part of a volunteer group from the USA and worked at a children's camp in Vynohradiv in Transcarpathia. For two weeks, he helped orphans and at the same time visited relatives in Dubna. It was then that he felt: I want to return here.
In 2015, this intention became an action. Colin came to Ukraine again and joined the work of the "Vidrodzhennia" Rehabilitation Center. There, he quickly found contact with children, earned the respect of his parents and the support of the team. Openness and sincerity became his main tools even before going on stage.
Later, Colin entered the Ukrainian Catholic University. Life in the country ceased to be a temporary experience and became part of everyday life. It was here that the environment in which the future stand-up was born was formed.
Creative path
In stand-up, Colin Kubik has been in 2021. The first performances took place in Lviv — in front of a live audience, without filters or editing. The material was based on the American's observations about life in Ukraine. It worked: the audience quickly responded.
Now Colin regularly performs at various venues and participates in comedy formats together with residents of stand-up clubs. Among them:
- material review;
- stand-up improvisation;
- MONEY MIC;
- DEADLINE;
- "Nakidoni";
- performances on the "CherepaXa" channel and others.
In his performances, Colin works with topics that are easy to recognize: culture, daily habits, historical contexts, food, everyday life and even fantasies about the future. He adds his own experience and a bit of self-irony to this - the result is humor that goes well "among his own".
If you are planning an evening or looking for anti-workdays - in the event schedule and poster on Numotamo.com you can find current performances, check ticket availability, find out prices and choose convenient seats.
Social activity
Off stage, Colin teaches English, continues to volunteer and joins charitable initiatives in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a regular part of his life, not individual actions.
Among such events is the "LUCTIVES" concert in Lviv, which combined humor and help. Such events not only cover specific needs, but also help to breathe a little in difficult times.
Colin also actively uses his public appearances and social networks to tell an international audience about events in Ukraine. This is another way to support — through attention and truthful information.
If you don't have plans right now — that's okay. But when you feel like going out, save options or come up with an idea for the evening, you can do so on Numotamo: poster, events, tickets — all in one place.
