Who is Stepan Giga Jr.
Stepan Giga Jr. was born on February 20, 1993 in Uzhgorod. He grew up in a musical family: his mother is a bandurist, Halyna Giga, who worked as an administrator at the Transcarpathian Philharmonic. He received his name in honor of his father — as a continuation of the dynasty.
He spent his childhood in a one-room apartment, where music sounded every day. His father wrote his first songs on a small balcony, and his children, Kvitoslava and Stepan, became his listeners.
Education and first steps
He studied at the Uzhhorod gymnasium. In parallel, he attended music school (violin), guitar, played sports, and performed at concerts. During his school years, he formed a rock band with his classmates and became its leader.
He participated in competitions and festivals. At the age of 14, he became a laureate of the All-Ukrainian competition "Step to the Stars."
He received his higher education at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. In 2024, he defended his thesis and received a Ph.D. degree in "Musical Art."
Career: from guitarist to solo artist
He started as a guitarist in his father's band "My Friends." Over time, he went solo under the pseudonym STEVE G.
In 2019, he performed the song "Dym" on the project "KRAY HIT.IF" - this became the starting point of a separate career. In the future, he combines the roles of both a guitarist and a solo performer. His repertoire includes his own tracks and interpretations of his father's songs.
He is a member of the creative union "Association of Pop Art Figures of Ukraine". In 2025, he received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.
