History of the band
ADAM is a Ukrainian neo-soul band from Kyiv. The band was founded by composer, sound producer and arranger Mykhailo Klymenko together with his wife – vocalist and muse of the group, Oleksandra Norova. The band members met while studying at the Kyiv Variety and Circus College. It was there that not only a personal connection was born, but also a creative collaboration, which later grew into a full-fledged project.
The idea of creating the ADAM group appeared not as a main goal, but rather as a space for the embodiment of thoughts, experiences and emotions. Before that, Mykhailo already had considerable experience in creativity in the music industry. Klymenko worked as an arranger and wrote his first song in his second year. For the composition he created, he received his first serious fee of $ 300. After his authorial debut, he began to create hits for Ukrainian pop stars, including Maria Yaremchuk, the Alibi group, and Oleksandr Ponomarev.
And although at first the ADAM project was not the main focus of Mykhailo's professional track, the group immediately became something special for fans. And it was sincere and inspired creativity combined with the talent and charisma of the participants that became the key to the future popularity and recognition of the collective.
Creative path
The debut album of ADAM called "CHYUZMUZ", which was released in 2017, immediately attracted the attention not only of fans of the project, but also of critics. The release was included in the list of the 17 best albums of the year according to LiRoom. In 2019, the band presented their second album "Ronim". The album entered the top 100 of Apple Music in Ukraine. It was with this release that the history of ADAM video clips began. After all, videos were shot for four songs from the album.
A real breakthrough occurred in 2023. The songs "Slowly" and "Only for Us" conquered listeners across the country. The composition "Slowly" gained particular popularity. The track became the leader of the charts and collected over 20 million listens. The band's success was not unexpected. After all, the artists were gradually moving towards recognition, simply doing what they truly love and winning over a listening audience.
In September 2023, ADAM, in collaboration with singer KOLA, released a joint track “Starfalls”. And 2024 was marked by new achievements. ADAM was shortlisted for the YUNA award in several categories, including “Discovery of the Year” and “Best Duet / Collaboration”.
Style and development of the group
From the very beginning of its creative path, ADAM has focused on music that speaks the language of feelings. The group's songs tell about relationships and deep inner experiences. Although the compositions mostly talk about love and relationships between people, the artists are not afraid to touch on more serious, even painful topics.
Mykhailo Klymenko admits: sometimes manifesto songs are born, in which the voice of the heart sounds. But after a wave of emotions, the realization comes that it is important to maintain balance. After all, moderation adds depth to creativity. And it is this soft sincerity, light romance and sophistication that make ADAM's music so recognizable. It flows calmly and deeply, inviting the listener to return to its embrace again and again.
The band's live shows are a separate story. The atmosphere at concerts is so magnetic that you can get lost in it, dissolve in it, and then find a new self. During concert tours, Mykhailo and Sasha are joined on stage by musicians Maksym Kozachenko (guitarist), Andriy Hrytsenko (drummer) and Vyacheslav Shevchenko (sound engineer).
In addition, ADAM is also a true enthusiast in creating video content. Most of the band's videos are the result of the creativity and work of Sasha Norova and Mykhailo Klymenko. The artists simultaneously act as directors, cameramen, stylists, and production designers. It is this originality that creates an atmosphere that cannot be confused with anything else.
