Becoming an artist
Maryna Klimova is a Ukrainian theater and film actress. The actress’s hometown is sunny Odesa. Marina’s acquaintance with the theater began in preschool age. After her parents took her daughter to a performance at the Odessa Musical and Drama Theater. The girl was only five or six years old. However, the impression remained so strong that the little spectator firmly decided: she wants to be among those children who performed on stage. Her parents sincerely supported her desire for creativity and enrolled her daughter in a theater studio.
Since then, theater culture has become an integral part of Marina Klimova’s life. The future star of the big stage diligently studied in clubs, studied at a theater lyceum. And naturally, after school she chose the profession of an actress. At that time, she had a strategic goal - to apply to several theater universities at once.
In Kyiv, the girl passed the selection round and even received a certificate that allowed her to enter. However, the entrance exams in Kharkiv, which took place earlier, were decisive. There, Klimova successfully passed the exams. The city, people and atmosphere of the regional center were to Marina's liking. So the choice of educational institution was obvious. The girl entered the Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky.
Marina Klimova studied on the course of the married couple of teachers Alexander Pavlovich Mohyla and Angelina Vasylivna Filippova. Larisa Volodymyrivna Lunina was also part of the teaching group. This was the first course that all three of them taught together at Kharkiv University. Marina recalls her student years with warmth: the teachers did not just teach according to the program, but shared their own experience, striving to form in each not just a performer, but a real creative personality. Friendly advice and support helped future actors to be ready for any stage surprises during their debuts and throughout their professional activities.
Creative path
Conquering the audience and the path to popularity and recognition began for Marina Klimova during her fourth year at the university. The young actress received an invitation to play in the performances of the Kharkiv Drama Theater. Cooperation with the institution's team lasted from 2011 to 2014.
And from 2014 to 2020, Klimova was part of the creative group of the Odessa Musical and Drama Theater named after Vasyl Vasylko. The most prominent roles of that period were:
- Agafia in "The Marriage" by Nikolai Gogol;
- Stella in "The Beautiful Cuckold" by Fernand Krommelin;
- Marichka in "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" by Mikhail Kotsiubynsky and others.
In Odessa, Marina Klimova embodied complex and deep images on stage in the performances of such famous directors as Ivan Uryvsky, Tetyana Gubriy, Igor Ravytsky, Stanislav Zhirkov, Maksym Golenko.
Transition to the Theater on the Left Bank
Since 2020, Marina Klimova has been playing on the stage of the Kyiv Theater of Drama and Comedy on the Left Bank of the Dnieper. The actress's career in the famous theater began with rehearsals for the play "House" by British playwright Nicola McCartney. The casting was conducted by director Tamara Trunova, whose productions have participated in art festivals and competitions. Klimova chose to audition for the role of the heroine Jo, which she continues to play today. The actress's current repertoire includes performances and roles:

Klimova’s debut in cinema is associated with the film “Bad Roads”. With the play of the same name, the creative team of the Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnieper went on a tour of Europe. The production had a loud resonance and caused emotional discussions among theater fans and art critics.
Among the projects with the participation of Marina Klimova that have gone beyond the borders of Ukraine is also the play “Green Corridors” by director Jan Christoph Hockel, which is being played in Munich. And the production of “Postcards from the East” by Stanislav Zhirkov was presented in Berlin. Both performances are dedicated to the theme of war and have become another way to establish a dialogue with the audience through art.
