Becoming an artist

Yegor Shataylo is a Ukrainian stand-up comedian with his own expressive style. Yegor was born in Vinnytsia, and in his youth he moved to Kyiv with his family, where he began to actively shape his own creative path. Already in his teens, the young man became interested in the stage, attended acting courses and joined the theater life. In particular, he worked at the improvisation studio “Black Square”. Later, he worked at the Kyiv Theater of Young Spectators, which gave a good start to the development of artistic charisma and confidence in front of the audience. Despite the fact that Shataylo is a marketing specialist by education, this specialty became rather an interesting background, which later helped to better understand the industry, production processes and audience behavior. A kind of stage of internal reboot for the artist was the period of life in the village, where Yegor moved in 2022. There, Shataylo arranged a comfortable space for work and life - a basement bunker, which had all the necessary things: from folding chairs to an electric blanket, a lamp, the Internet and supplies of water and food. It was there that Yegor felt calmer, could work on new ideas without panic, write texts and look for that special sound, which later significantly influenced his style.

Creative path

Shataylo began his stand-up career in 2015. It was then that he felt that comedy and writing occupied a central place in his work. Over the years of work on stage, Yegor has become a recognizable performer of the comedy genre and has gained wide popularity among fans of Ukrainian humor. Shataylo became the scriptwriter of the program “#@)₴?$0”, where he works on acute social content together with Anton Tymoshenko and Serhiy Lipko. Since 2019, he has been hosting the radio show “Homin Out”. This is another platform where Yegor’s style and inner artistry are particularly evident. The comedian is a resident of “Underground Stand-Up” – a collective that has formed a powerful wave of modern Ukrainian comedy and has become a leading player in the cultural process. In 2020, Shataylo completely switched to the Ukrainian language and severed any ties with Russian culture, which only strengthened his position as a responsible artist and opinion leader for the Ukrainian audience.

Creative development

Yegor Shataylo became the first Ukrainian comedian to start selling his solo programs directly on his own website. It was a real debut in a format that had previously been almost never practiced in the stand-up genre. By 2025, the artist had created three major solo albums, each of which became a full-fledged event:

• “Temporary Inconveniences” (2021). This is a comedy with diverse themes: the development of Ukraine, the work of law enforcement agencies, the behavior of celebrities, the freedom-loving nature of Ukrainians, the peculiarities of the Constitution, notes of apocalyptic humor and the judicial system. This stand-up is recognizable thanks to its bright comic compositions, which quickly became hits among fans;
• “A Second of a Groundhog” (2023). The second solo album, which immerses the viewer in the crazy atmosphere of modernity - from aerial anxieties and anxiety to political "experts" and the paradoxes of life during a full-scale Russian invasion. This release feels like the artist's special style: a combination of reflection and sharp satire;
• "Air Zashibis" (2024). The latest solo album, which is dedicated to relations, Western countries, US superweapons, Eurovision, Western audiences and the joy of being Ukrainian even in the most difficult times. This live was recorded in the large hall of the House of Cinema for 700 people - a concert with the atmosphere of a large festival. "Underground Stand-Up" took on the organization, filming and advertising campaign, completely closing the production part. All funds – about 300,000 hryvnias – were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yegor Shataylo is active on TitTiok and Instagram. Thanks to these platforms, the comedian shares material with the audience, promotes upcoming performances, and expands the boundaries of his popularity.
