Biography
Yulia Yarmolenko is a Ukrainian psychologist and expert in sexual education. Former journalist. Speaker of the EdCamp educational community. Author of the bestsellers “Little things about intimate things”, “Without delusions about the first menstruation”. Yulia Yarmolenko was born in Poltava, and then moved to Kharkiv. She began her career in journalism: she worked as a reporter for the newspaper “Komsomolska Pravda” in Ukraine.Later, she changed her professional track, getting a job as a copywriter at an international medical center that dealt with intimate health issues. In 2002–2004, Yulia headed the Poltava Youth Euroclub, which was engaged in cultural and educational initiatives.
In 2014, Yarmolenko finally left her job at the medical center and began to look for herself in different areas. The period of experiments did not last long and led to a new vocation - sexual education.
Professional realization:
In 2014, Yulia Yarmolenko began giving lectures to teenagers, where she spoke not only about sexuality, but also about the causes of intimate problems. Her openness and ability to explain complex things in simple language quickly attracted the attention of a wide audience.In 2018, Yulia graduated from the School of Trauma Pedagogy. And a year later, she received a master's degree in crisis psychology at the University of Educational Management at the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
Yarmolenko actively speaks at educational and psychological forums, gives lectures at schools and universities, and also advises parents. She was a consultant in the creation of the Ukrainian sexual education program "Love. Respect. Sex".
In her work, the psychologist combines a scientific approach with practical advice. She participated in UNICEF and UNFPA Ukraine projects, where for several years she conducted free trainings for parents of children with disabilities.

You can see Yulia on television, hear her on the radio, read her articles in the media and books. She has become a recognizable speaker on the topics of sexual culture, psychology and mental health.In March 2025, Yarmolenko took part in the event “My Fest” – the first festival in Ukraine dedicated to mental health and sexual culture. The expert’s speech once again confirmed that Yulia is one of the key figures in shaping the culture of sexual education in Ukraine. Yarmolenko has over 300 thousand followers on Instagram.
