Becoming an artist

Dmytro Solovyov is a Ukrainian theater and film actor. The star of the modern stage was born and raised in Kyiv, on Darnytsia. His father worked as a dentist. And his mother, a French teacher, taught at the gymnasium on Rusanivka. It was there that the future actor studied. Although the boy's grades were decent, his behavior was far from exemplary.

Dmitry remembers himself as a mischievous boy, always with ideas for the next prank. Once during a basketball match, the young man managed to throw a smoke bomb into the sneakers of a high school student. After the incident, the student was summoned to the principal. And then, according to him, Dmitry first realized his acting talent. Whether it was charisma or talent, Solovyov invented his version of events so convincingly that he eventually escaped punishment. At the same time, he notes, it was then that he realized that lying was a shameful thing to do.

Dmytro joined the school theater group more for practical reasons. Of course, he did not yet have a dream of popularity, recognition from a wide audience, and participation in large-scale festivals. Instead, rehearsals made it possible to skip classes. After the ninth grade, the young man left the gymnasium and entered the theater college in Kyiv.

Later, he tried to enter Karpenko-Kary University. He almost passed the selection, but at the final stage, Solovyov's candidacy was rejected. Probably because the applicant already had a specialized education. In the end, Solovyov chose the University of Culture, where he was enrolled immediately in the second year. There he received a diploma. Dmitry Solovyov studied under the mentorship of Yuri Adolfovich Muravitsky.

Creative path

After completing his studies, Dmitry Solovyov was invited to the Open View theater, which at that time was headed by Stas Zhirkov and Ksenia Romashenko. It was with this team that the young actor's professional path began. Solovyov made his stage debut in the theater and began to truly understand the essence of the acting profession. He worked in the team from 2007 to 2011. Then he later joined the creative group of the Koleso theater. The performer of bright roles won the favor of fans of dramatic art.

Currently, Dmitry is an actor at the Kyiv Academic Drama and Comedy Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnieper. At the same time, he participates in productions at the Actor Theater and collaborates with the Andriy Bilous Theater Workshop.

The actor's current repertoire includes roles in plays of various genres:

Social activity

Today, Dmitry Solovyov appears on the Ukrainian stage and participates in foreign theater tours. Thus, the artist, together with his colleagues, draws the attention of the world community to the war in Ukraine and supports the strength of spirit of his compatriots. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the actor volunteered, distributing humanitarian aid to those who needed it. Having left Kyiv for the Cherkasy region, he joined the TRO there. However, he never signed a contract: the theater troupe was called on tour to Europe.

The actor continues to actively help the Ukrainian Defense Forces and support the people's struggle for their freedom.

Interesting facts about the actor:

• Dmytro's parents initially did not take their son's desire to become an actor seriously. And they considered the theater group as a cure for stuttering. After all, on stage, the guy spoke clearly, unlike in ordinary life;
• One of the first fees Solovyov spent on buying a used phone, because his own had just been stolen;
• The actor has good data for sports. He used to practice crossfit. However, after knee surgery, he had to take a break for almost a year. Today, he is again making efforts to restore his dream form. The artist emphasizes that this is important for the profession, and also allows you to maintain optimal psycho-emotional balance.
