Becoming an artist
Lely45 is a Ukrainian actress and performer, blogger. The new star of modern Ukrainian music was born and lives in Kyiv, Troyeshchyna. Lyuda grew up in a family where love and strict rules reigned. Her mother worked as a logistician, her father was a military man. Discipline reigned in the house: no lateness, a restrained appearance and unquestioning obedience.
The parents saw their daughter's passion for creativity as more of a hobby than a serious occupation. Therefore, they wanted the girl to receive an economic education. However, Lyuda decided otherwise - she chose a creative path.
She began singing at an early age. As a child, she often performed Ukrainian folk songs with her grandmother. In the fifth grade, she joined the ensemble "Chervona Kalina". The members of the collective not only performed folk compositions, but also staged dance numbers together. Later, the creative group was transformed into a theater studio. It was there that Lyuda became more deeply acquainted with the theater and its history. Once, a girl she knew brought the future artist to the National Academy of Managers of Culture and Arts, where Lyudmila began her studies.
The owner of bright charisma and acting talent began to participate in adult student productions. Her debut on the big stage was an impetus for the development of the girl's powerful creative potential. By the age of 15, she had already participated in the creation of a performance at the Gogolfest together with the Theater of the Immigrant. Later, after a short break, she joined the team of the theater studio "Khalabuda".
Creative path
Lely45 admits: becoming a musician was never seriously included in her plans. Music always lived inside. But for a long time, the performer perceived it as an addition to directing and acting. It was a special tool - a way of healing, getting out of depressive states, rethinking difficult life moments.
Everything changed during the quarantine period. It was then that Lilu45 began to conduct TikTok. She used the platform as a space for experiments. The girl covered familiar songs and carefully followed what the audience liked. One of the first videos that brought her popularity, recognition and first fans was the song "Yesenin". The work quickly gained a large number of views. The community of the singer's loyal fans also expanded significantly.
The singer released her first music album on July 2, 2021. The release was called "Girl in a Balloon". In the fall of the same year, Lilu45's debut solo concert took place at the Bel etage club in the capital. And on November 5, 2021, the artist presented her second album - "Autumn in Headphones".
Style and creative development of the performer
Lely45 began her journey on stage in the image of a defiant girl with a cold gaze, who, it seems, does not let anyone close. But behind this mask is a deep, purposeful and extremely hardworking creative personality.
In her songs, Lely45 raises not only the themes of love and personal experiences, but also addresses deeper social issues. The artist's work contains motifs of relationships between parents and children, criticism of the objectification of women, reflections on self-determination in society and global challenges facing humanity.
The singer is demanding, first of all, of herself - this also applies to music. It is known that the singer created the arrangements for one of her albums independently in the GarageBand program, because she is not used to relying on the taste of the producer. She works only with those she trusts. And she prefers those who take their work seriously.
In 2022, the singer presented her third album entitled "When the Sun Sets Behind the Hill". The album included nine original tracks. In collaboration with the band Müsli UA, Lely45 took part in the national selection for Eurovision 2023 with the song Be Brave Like Ukraine, but the track did not make it to the final. In July 2023, Lilu45 performed at the "Fajne Misto" festival in Lviv, collecting a standing ovation from the audience.
Social activity
With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Lely45 completely switched to the Ukrainian language in her work. In December 2022, at a charity concert in Kyiv, she performed in a duet with Artem Pivovarov, performing the joint composition "Radisno/Strashno". Also in December, together with Nadeya Dorofeeva, she sang "Shchedryka" in a modern interpretation.
At the beginning of 2023, as part of the Ukraїner project “Brave Cities”, a video clip and a song by the singer “Simferopol, I will return to you” were released – a sincere musical dedication to the city.
Lilu45 participated in the Class Act project – an initiative that united young people from different parts of Ukraine: West and East. Participants came to Kyiv, where for ten days they worked together with playwrights, wrote plays and staged them on stage together with professional actors.
Among TVOne of the artist’s most important works, which reflects Lilu45’s reflection on the war tragedies in Ukraine, is a poem written immediately after receiving news from Bucha. The poem is entitled “I Let Your Pain In, Ukraine.”
