Biography
Rusya Danilkina (also known as Rusya “Nezlamna”) – a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, influencer, blogger. Hometown – Odesa. Before the full-scale invasion, Ruslana’s life was quite ordinary. She worked as a waitress, planned to enter university and imagined her future to be simple and calm. But after February 24, 2022, her dreams were shattered – instead of studying, at the age of 18, the girl decided to take up arms and voluntarily joined the territorial defense in her native Odessa.
The girl, who had recently attended tattoo artist courses, found herself on the front line - first in the Zaporizhia and later in the Kherson directions.
Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and injuries
At the front, Rusya's main task was difficult and extremely responsible - to work with radios. She had to track the slightest movement of the enemy: the sound of equipment, the movement of infantry, aviation. She immediately transmitted all this to the officers who made the decision to call in artillery or launch mortars.
But on February 10, 2023, the defender's life changed dramatically. When Ruslana and her comrades were changing positions in the car, a Russian cluster shell hit her right from the side. A fragment pierced the car and seriously injured her leg. The girl immediately realized that her limb was seriously damaged. Rapid evacuation saved Rusya's life. That leg was lost.
After the operation and amputation, Ruslana quickly realized that she would have to learn to live with a prosthesis. In just a week, she learned everything she could about different types of special devices. Just a few days after the installation of her first mechanical prosthesis, she took to the streets of Odessa with one crutch.
Although her first steps were accompanied by terrible pain and despair, Ruslana managed to overcome these feelings. Later, the girl mastered a modern electronic prosthesis, without which she now feels discomfort.
Social activity
At first, Ruslana did not want to make her injury public and planned to hide it. The veteran was definitely not looking for popularity and recognition. However, she still became known to a wide audience. While in the hospital next to her seriously injured comrades, Ruslana "Nezlamna" understood: it was wrong to remain silent. She saw people without arms, without sight, with multiple amputations. That's when she decided to tell her story and show the world what price Ukrainians pay for their freedom.
Ruslana began sharing daily "recovery stories" on social media - from the first steps on a prosthesis to small victories in rehabilitation. These posts inspired thousands of people, including not only military personnel, but also civilians who needed support.
Today, Ruslana Danilkina has not only returned to active life, but also works at the Superhumans center, where she underwent her own rehabilitation. Now she helps other wounded people on their path to recovery. Her story has become an example of strength, indomitability and self-belief, as well as a reminder of how expensive it is for Ukrainians to defend their freedom.
