Becoming an artist
Zhenya Yanovich is a Ukrainian actor, producer, screenwriter, co-founder of the comedy studio “Mamahihotala”. Yevgeny is one of those artists who gain popularity and recognition not only thanks to talent, but also thanks to his lively charisma and ability to work with the audience in such a way that every appearance on stage or appearance of the artist in the frame is impossible to miss.
Born in Zhytomyr, Zhenya grew up in a warm creative atmosphere, where the future artist gradually matured alongside books, humor and mathematical problems. Mom was not only the closest person to the boy, but also his first mentor. It was she who instilled in him a love of reading and attention to detail. Zhenya spent his summer vacations with his grandmother in Komarivka, where the young man willingly helped with the household chores – digging potatoes, doing housework and observing village life, which later gave him material for characters and roles.
Yanovich took his first steps on stage while still at school. The boy was always drawn to acting, so Yevhen enthusiastically participated in school plays, performances and KVK games, where he tried himself as a comedian. In the lyceum, Yevhen not only actively created humor, but also showed leadership abilities – he graduated with a gold medal and became the president of the lyceum.
In 2008, he entered the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. At first he chose the technical faculty, but later transferred to the medical and engineering faculty - it was there that he truly felt that creativity took up much more space in his life than calculations and technical formulas. The university KVK became a kind of creative tour for Yanovich: humorous performances, teamwork, first numbers for a large audience. It was from the "KPI Team" that the future "Mamahohotala" collective grew - a team that would later give Zhenya her debut on television and open the way to the professional industry.
Creative path
Since 2012, Yanovich began to appear regularly on Ukrainian TV channels - he played in KVN on the First National, participated in the project "Fight Club" on TET. And already in 2013, the studio "Mamahohotala" launched its own show on UFO TV, which quickly became a hit for the channel and a real breakthrough for the team. Yevgeny became one of the key artists of the studio, gained recognition and loyal fans.
In parallel, the actor built a career in film. One of the first serious steps was the series "How Style Was Tempered", where Yanovich not only played the main role, but also participated in writing the script. Such cooperation allowed Yevgeny to feel like not just a performer, but a creator of a full-fledged product. Later there was a role in the film "Infoholic", where Yanovich again combined acting with creative participation in the script. The film hit the nerve of the time and received wide recognition. In 2018, the actor showed his comedic potential in the sitcom "Curators", continuing to expand the genre range.
Yevhen has repeatedly emphasized that cinema can not only entertain, but also show the truth that people sometimes prefer not to notice. The actor is convinced that art should not have taboos, because life does not have them either. And it was this desire for frankness that led him to dramatic roles. In 2019, he first went beyond the scope of a comedic role in the historical drama "Loyal". In the same year, he appeared in the TV series Svoekino, and in 2021, Ukrainian viewers saw him in the witty film "Amber Cops".
Later there were other works, including “Dangerous Program” and the comedy “Condominium Meetings”, which in 2024 gathered a lot of fans and significantly increased the actor’s popularity. Other series in which you can see Yanovich:
