Olga Uzun is a Ukrainian theater and film actress. Today, the young actress has been playing on the big stage with real stars of the domestic theater for about five years. She dreamed of being in a creative profession since childhood, so from a young age she confidently went towards her goal. Olga was born in the village of Karakurt in the Odessa region, where she spent her childhood. There she graduated from school and made her stage debut. Since childhood, she gladly participated in recitation competitions, attended the school theater group. She was sincerely interested in events in the field of culture and the art industry.
Since childhood, Olga Uzun dreamed of an acting profession. However, while studying at the university, she realized that her ideas about the world of creativity were significantly different from reality. It turned out that acting requires much more effort than it seems at first glance. However, Olga did not betray her ambitious goal and never regretted her choice.
While studying in the final year, Olga reviewed the list of theater universities in Ukraine and eventually applied to the Ivan Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television. However, the path to her dream was complicated by the financial aspect: tuition was expensive. And the only opportunity to study was to enroll on a budget. The competition was up to 15 people per place, so the chances were limited. However, luck was on Olga's side: high results in the external evaluation and successfully passed entrance exams allowed the girl to enter the number of the best applicants. She took third place in the ranking among 50 applicants and thus received the opportunity to study for free.
The course mentor was Mykhailo Reznikovich, artistic director of the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater. Under his supervision, the students prepared a graduation performance. The production served as both a test and certification for future actors and took place on the small stage of the theater. Olga Uzun got the main female role in the play. And the young actress coped brilliantly.
Interestingly, this was not Olga's debut. A little earlier, she had to replace an actress who dropped out of another production. Then Uzun was supposed to perform a song. But this did not become a problem for the girl. After all, Olga was engaged in vocals at school, and at the university all students underwent appropriate training. So the challenge was accepted without hesitation. Thanks to this, the actress approached her graduation work with stage experience and confidence.
After graduating from university, the Lesya Ukrainka Theater immediately entrusted Olga with the main role in the play “Romeo and Juliet”. Preparation for the performance was extremely intensive. Only 12 days to study the text, interact with a partner and the creative team, and completely immerse herself in the image. Despite the complexity of the task, the performer of the role of Juliet quickly felt in her element, and the premiere was sold out. The applause of the audience, the emotions and experiences of the audience became the best reward for Olga. It was at that moment that the artist finally realized that she had received true recognition and felt the benefits of popularity.
The first weeks of work at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater were accompanied by a certain excitement. Olga initially felt insecure in the team of stage stars. However, this feeling quickly passed. The actress admits that she was used to greeting everyone in the theater, as it was in her native village. But over time, she understood the main rule of the stage: regardless of age or status, each new performance starts with a clean slate. And all the actors together create it anew. This common desire for creativity unites the entire theater group.
